Ride for Hope Day 26

Day 26 - SANTA ANA WINDS - THAT WAS HARD!

Yves rode this afternoon instead of this morning in hopes that the Santa Ana winds would be a little lighter. Unfortunately, they were still gusting about 20 mph. On a bike, that feels like “gale-force” winds. Since he needed to get close to 40 miles today, he knew he had to get a little creative with his route.

He started at Yorba Linda Regional and headed into the wind down to Green River Road and then turned around so the wind would be at his back and ending in Huntington Beach. Fortunately, his good friend Jon Miller met him there with his truck and gave him a ride home.

Even with all that wind he logged 38.28 miles for the day.

Sometimes when things don't go the way you want, you have to change your strategy.

Uphill is hard but compared to the challenges these women face, this is really nothing to complain about!
