Welcome to KHERUT’s Blog!

Since our event on April 1st this year, we have been so grateful so many of you have been checking in and asking what we need to continue building to launch our first food truck in September.

We’ll be posting all the new updates here, so be sure to click here to sign up to get new post notifications in your email.

A question we get asked all the time is where did our name come from and what does it mean?

KHERUT is inspired by the Hebrew phrase, “mi’avdut le’cherut” which means “from slavery to freedom.”

The acronym spells out our mission to “Keep Her Uplifted and Transformed”

The young women who will be working at KHERUT have gone from slavery in sex trafficking, through at least one or two years of rehabilitation, and want to continue their journey to becoming self-sufficient—we will be helping to fill a gap in their journey by employing, training, mentoring, and guiding them so they can successfully make the transition to a career of their choice and an independent life.
